2008 Custom Aluminium Exploration Ketch
Built in the Almaz yard in Russia, this explorer / expedition yacht is based on the Ricochet 16.50, she was fitted out in Switzerland by the first owner. She has since been used extensively in Greenland, Svalbard, Norway and the Baltic and excels at high latitude sailing. Initially coded to 'Cat 2' by the present owners she was then not used commercially and consequently the coding has been allowed to expire in October 2024.
For the adventurer, or those looking to create charter services, particularly to colder climates, Nina Soraya is in her element. For long range sailing, she has many attributes, and her comfort and practicality make her a great choice. She is extremely self-sufficient with her solar panels, large battery banks, wind generation and water maker.
A big boat that moves well with her extended sail plan and Volvo Penta 120hp engine matched to a Bruntons feathering auto prop.
She offers many of the attributes of Garcia, Boreal, Alu Marine, Cigale and Bestevaer yachts.
Owned currently by an Engineer/Adventurer, her systems and engine have been maintained accordingly with frequent services and engine oil changes. She is fully ready and prepared to voyage practically anywhere.
Owner's Comments
We’ve owned Nina Soraya for 9 years, and had some amazing adventures with her. We’ve made many substantial improvements to her during that time, and she’s proven to be a fantastic boat, taking us safely and comfortably to some very adventurous places. We plan further adventures, but in a smaller boat.
