The Chuck Paine designed Victoria 30 offers everything you would need to spend time away, with good accommodation and great cockpit space.

She is tiller steered and long keeled, so she will sail straight and true and make good ground on long passages made even easier by the use of the tiller pilot.

This well loved example has many upgrades including new canvas work, a new chart plotter and a recent Yanmar engine

Construction

Her keel stepped mast provides added stiffness and her long keel ensures she is capable out on open waters. She is Teak over GRP, Her standing rigging was changed in 2017.

Accommodations

Offering 1 double berth, two singles and an additional pilot berth, accommodating 5 in total. The Upholstery was renewed in 2022, with the Sea Toilet replaced in 2018.

Sails

Comes complete with a fully battened main sail (with 3 slab reefs), a furling genoa and a reassuring storm jib. Also included is a flexible cruising chute. Sails are removed for inspection and cleaned if necessary each year.

Navigation Equipment

The Navigation equipment is up to date with a new Garmin chartplotter including GPS (2023). Aided by a Tillerpilot autohelm, she also comes with wind sensor, speed and log, a compass and AIS receiver. She also includes the obligatory Navigation Lights

Safety Equipment

Safety equipment includes a life raft and flares (require servicing), 2 x fire extinguishers, a life buoy and jack stays. Fox's Yacht sales always suggest that safety equipment is considered to require servicing or replacement to ensure their suitability and provide no assurances as to their condition.

Deck Gear

The canvas work has been replaced in the current ownership, including a new spray-hood, sail cover and dodgers. Athene also benefits from a complete cockpit enclosure, creating additional space and protection from either the sun (without sides) or the weather (with sides and back fitted). The anchor is a CQR with 40m of chain, the windlass is manual and she comes dressed with fenders and warps.

Engine and Electrics

The Yanmar 2YM15 links to a shaft driven fixed 3 blade prop. Diesel is supplied from a 50 litre tank, installed at the same time as the engine (2018). Electrics are supplied by a starter battery (2018) and 2 Domestic batteries (2022), charged by engine and solar trickle charge.

Athene offers both 12v and 240v shore power.

Maintenance and Servicing.

Last out of the water in May 2024, she was anti-fouled and all through fittings were inspected. The Yanmar engine was fitted in 2018 with the stern gland replaced. She has been serviced annually by a Yanmar main dealer service agents.
